Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
Carina Hardy's jewelry has a sculptor's relationship with volume, but the deeper we looked, the more we appreciated the hand-carved quality behind it. Lost-wax casting, recycled precious metals, irregular forms and limited production all preserve small signs of the human process. The 18-karat Misfits pieces are particularly interesting because they allow asymmetry and imperfection to become luxurious rather than something to correct. We would show Carina to someone who likes substantial jewelry but still wants sensuality in the form. Strength and softness coexist very naturally here.
