This Braid Slim Dome Ring by Carina Hardy uses one of humanity’s oldest decorative structures to create an understated contemporary band. A graduated braid in recycled sterling silver expands and contracts along the finger, eventually lifting just beyond the hand’s natural curve. The design is simple from a distance but reveals the rhythm and texture of interwoven strands on closer inspection. Its slim proportions make it particularly versatile, whether worn alone or beside other silver and gemstone rings, while the braid introduces associations of connection and strength without turning them into an overt motif. The piece is handcrafted in Bali in a limited series.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
