This 18K Oroboro Ring by Carina Hardy gives the ancient ouroboros symbol exceptional material permanence. A serpent carved in recycled 18k yellow gold bites its own tail, closing the circle and embodying ideas of eternity, renewal and cyclical time. Hand-etched scales give the surface an unmistakably worked quality, while responsibly sourced diamond eyes introduce tiny points of brilliance without distracting from the serpent’s form. More precious and refined than the vermeil interpretation, this limited-edition version turns an archetypal motif into an heirloom-level object. Designed and handcrafted in Bali, with gemstone setting completed in Bangkok, it remains both symbolic and highly tactile.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
