This Taurus Pendant by Carina Hardy focuses closely on the bull rather than reducing the sign to a familiar outline. The sculpted eye and ear create a sense of intimacy and observation, while an upward-facing horn in recycled 18K gold breaks beyond the circular sterling silver boundary with quiet force. That three-dimensional emphasis reflects Taurus qualities of steadiness, determination and sensual appreciation for the material world. There is something archaeological in the treatment, as though the image were a fragment of a larger ancient object. On the reverse, the constellation appears through dotted points and etched connecting lines, offering a celestial counterpoint to the earthy animal symbolism on the front.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
