This Sun Pendant by Carina Hardy approaches astrology with the brand’s characteristic mixture of symbolism, sculpture and wit. Instead of a conventional solar emblem, the pendant depicts a sunny-side-up egg in recycled 18K yellow gold, complete with crisp edges extending beyond its circular sterling silver ground. The playful image becomes a cheeky metaphor for the Sun sign as identity, vitality and the self we project outward. Reversible construction adds another layer, with solar rays rendered on the back in a Braille-like dotted language. The piece is humorous without becoming frivolous, reminding its wearer that self-expression can be joyful, irreverent and unmistakably personal.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
