This Scorpio Pendant by Carina Hardy magnifies the scorpion’s defensive power through a sharply dimensional treatment. The creature is rendered with intricate detail against a circular sterling silver ground, while an enlarged pincer in recycled 18K gold extends just beyond the edge, emphasizing both protection and controlled intensity. The design reflects Scorpio’s associations with emotional depth, determination and the instinct to reveal strength selectively rather than immediately. On the reverse, the constellation appears in tactile dotted form connected by etched lines, creating a hidden celestial counterpart to the animal motif. The pendant feels guarded, complex and quietly formidable, capturing the sign’s psychological character through structure as much as symbolism.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
