This 18K Woman of Willendorf by Carina Hardy presents the prehistoric figure as a fully dimensional object protected within a sculptural golden water drop. Unlike a flat motif, the tiny figure remains visible from multiple angles and spins within the pendant, inviting touch, movement and close examination. That physical interaction collapses thousands of years of art history into an intimate contemporary experience worn against the body. Crafted in recycled 18K yellow gold, the piece honors the Woman of Willendorf as one of humanity’s earliest surviving artistic forms while allowing her to become a personal talisman. Limited to 20 examples, it is art object, amulet and jewelry in equal measure.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
