This 18K Venus de Milo by Carina Hardy treats a classical icon as a living sculptural form rather than a static museum reference. Rendered in recycled 18K yellow gold and left armless in fidelity to the famous ancient statue, Venus is enclosed within an organic water drop and illuminated by a solitary diamond. The reversible construction encourages the piece to be touched and explored from different perspectives, reinforcing the sense that art becomes newly alive when worn on the body. Suspended from an 18-inch Cardano chain and produced in only twenty examples, the pendant balances archaeological memory, precious craftsmanship and Hardy’s enduring fascination with feminine form.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
