This 18K Sleeping Venus Slider by Carina Hardy transforms the reclining Venus into an intimate object of movement and self-possession. Sculpted in recycled 18K yellow gold, the figure rests in a deliberately sensual pose, her gaze confronting the viewer rather than retreating from it. A diamond crowns her head with a precise point of brilliance, while the reversible slider construction allows the figure to move freely along the chain. The piece reflects a moment in art history when the female body began to be portrayed beyond strictly religious narratives, giving the pendant intellectual as well as visual charge. Limited to twenty examples, it is provocative, precious and unmistakably sculptural.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
