This 18K Roman Three Graces by Carina Hardy transforms classical figurative imagery into a substantial gold sculpture for the hand. Inspired by the Three Graces and their intertwined expressions of beauty, charm and joy, three female figures rest against one another to form the structure of the ring. Their bodies become the composition rather than a decorative element placed upon it, giving the piece a tactile, three-dimensional quality. Made in an exceptionally limited series of ten from recycled 18k yellow gold, it feels closer to a miniature collectible sculpture than conventional jewellery, with every viewpoint revealing another gesture or relationship between the figures.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
