These 18K Lotus Studs by Carina Hardy interpret a flower through asymmetry rather than perfect botanical symmetry. Curved petals unfold around a single responsibly sourced diamond, with each recycled 18K yellow-gold surface catching light and shadow differently as the form turns. The 6mm scale keeps the piece intimate, but the irregular petal arrangement gives it more visual depth than a conventional floral stud. Rather than appearing flat against the ear, the lotus feels modelled and dimensional, as though captured during the act of opening. Limited to a series of 100, the pair brings serenity and movement together in a compact piece of hand-shaped fine jewellery.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
