These Drops Two Way Earrings by Carina Hardy use contrast and counterbalance to create a deceptively simple transformable design. A latticed stud in recycled 18K yellow gold sits at the front of the ear, while a lightweight rhodium-plated sterling-silver element anchors the back, allowing two different materials and volumes to interact across the lobe. The gold stud can also be paired with other studs and fasteners, shifting the earring beyond its original two-part configuration. Limited to a series of 100, the design is compact but conceptually flexible, treating the fastening as visible sculpture rather than hidden hardware. Wear it matched or reconfigured according to mood.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
