These LP Subeng by Carina Hardy connect the Lilypad collection to the artistic and ceremonial traditions of Bali. Inspired by Subeng earrings traditionally worn to temple ceremonies, the design exaggerates the organic silhouette with intricate hand-carved lilypad motifs, creating a bold form that feels culturally grounded rather than simply botanical. The layered relief gives the earring a strong tactile presence, while the 2cm scale allows the carved details to remain legible. Offered in 22K gold vermeil or recycled sterling silver and handcrafted in Bali, the pair pays respect to Indonesian jewellery heritage through Carina Hardy’s own sculptural language rather than treating the reference as surface decoration.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
