These Chasm Hoops by Carina Hardy turn a rounded silver hoop into something geological. Recycled 925 sterling silver is given a rugged, uneven surface interrupted by a deep fissure across the curve, where responsibly sourced brown and black diamonds are embedded with precision. The dark stones sit within the chasm rather than across the outer surface, making the brilliance feel discovered inside a fracture. Compact in scale, the hoops retain a strong elemental presence without becoming oversized. Limited to a series of 100, they capture the Chasm collection’s tension between roughness and control, pairing cratered metal with carefully placed diamonds that seem to emerge from within.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
