This Chasm Flex Cuff 8mm by Carina Hardy treats silver like a weathered geological surface rather than a pristine precious metal. A deep chasm cuts across the solid cuff, while heavily textured areas suggest erosion, fracture and the slow forces that shape rock. Brown and black diamonds are embedded directly into these scars, appearing almost as mineral deposits discovered within the metal rather than conventionally mounted gemstones. The open flexible construction keeps the substantial piece wearable despite its rugged visual weight. Produced in a limited series of one hundred, it reflects Carina Hardy’s fascination with material transformation and the beauty found in surfaces that appear worn, fractured and imperfect.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
