This Cancer Pendant by Carina Hardy translates the sign’s combination of tenderness and protection into a dimensional crab that feels almost archaeological. Detailed pincers in recycled 18K yellow gold extend beyond the circular sterling silver background, emphasizing the defensive strength associated with Cancer while the textured body suggests something unearthed from another era. The symbolism is nuanced rather than decorative: intuition, emotional depth and fierce care for loved ones sit beneath the sculptural form. On the reverse, the Cancer constellation appears as dotted points connected by etched lines in a Braille-like motif. Reversible and limited in production, it is astrology interpreted as tactile narrative rather than conventional zodiac jewelry.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
