This 18K Willendorf Tag Necklace by Carina Hardy brings one of humanity’s earliest known figurative forms into intimate daily contact with the body. The delicately carved Woman of Willendorf lies flat against the chest, transformed into a protective golden totem that connects contemporary jewelry with imagery dating to roughly 25,000 BC. Hardy’s interpretation respects the archaeological form while allowing it to take on new personal meaning through wear. Crafted in recycled 18K yellow gold and produced in only 100 pieces, the pendant feels elemental, historical and deeply human. It is a reminder that adornment, the body and artistic expression have been intertwined for millennia.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
