These 18K Pearl Stud by Carina Hardy place a natural pink pearl inside a sculptural water droplet, turning the setting itself into part of the story. Recycled 18K yellow gold curves around the responsibly sourced pearl like a protective shell, echoing the place in which pearls naturally form while preserving the irregular softness of the droplet silhouette. At 5 by 7mm, the studs are compact enough for everyday wear yet dimensional enough to reveal the relationship between metal and pearl at close range. Limited to a series of 100, they feel intimate and quietly tactile, with the pearl appearing sheltered rather than simply mounted on the surface.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
