These 18K Pavé Hoops by Carina Hardy turn an angular hoop into a miniature figurative composition. Across recycled 18K yellow gold, responsibly sourced brown diamonds and yellow sapphires form a warm pavé field from which the sweep of a matriarch’s hair, face and body subtly emerges. Textured gold-leaf surfaces catch light alongside the stones, giving the imagery a painterly richness rather than a conventional gemstone pattern. The 1.7 by 1.9cm form has enough scale to reveal the figure while remaining wearable as a hoop. Limited to a series of 30, they reward close observation and blur the line between portraiture and fine jewellery.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
