This 18K Eye Ring by Carina Hardy uses three pink tourmalines to create an abstract gaze within a smooth recycled-gold form. The stones are tension set with no visible prongs or raised mount, allowing them to appear integrated into the metal rather than applied to its surface. Slight tonal variations between the natural tourmalines become part of the composition, celebrating the gemstone’s remarkable colour spectrum. Their arrangement suggests an eye without rendering one literally, leaving the symbolism open to interpretation. Associated with emotional softness and clarity, the pink stones add tenderness to an otherwise highly controlled structure. This one-of-one piece is made for frequent, intimate wear.
Carina Hardy has lived between Bali and New York City her entire life. Growing up in a family of jewelers, she was encouraged to push creative limits and trust hand craftsmanship. A designer and artist, Carina roots her practice in reverence for the strength and softness of women. Carina has worked in many mediums, including plaster, inflatables, ice and metal. Together with her lover Tavish, they established Carina Hardy in 2024.
