Catherine’s early fascination with jewelry and affinity for hands-on craftsmanship led her to study jewelry making and classical metalsmithing. She enjoyed honing her craft working for different designers. The spark to launch her signature jewelry brand ignited after Catherine and her husband and co-founder, Scott Diamond, spent five years traveling the world. Catherine was inspired by the places they explored, the people they met and her apprenticeships with traditional artisans in small villages.
Upon their return to San Francisco in 2000, she founded Catherine Weitzman Jewelry. Growing organically, Catherine and Scott relocated to Hawaii in 2004 and built a studio where all their jewelry is still handcrafted today.
Nature is a guiding force in Catherine’s work – it inspires her endlessly and shapes her identity, worldview and business ethos. Her commitment to sustainability is reflected in her use of found objects, recycled metals, and responsible suppliers. Craftsmanship is also at the heart of her business. All jewelry goes from design to production under one roof, brought to life by gifted artisans who infuse love in every piece.
