Wayan Sarjana, born in 1970 in Sukawati, Bali, has become one of the island’s most accomplished silversmiths. The eldest of three children in a family of artists, he was the first to dedicate himself to silver, beginning his apprenticeship at fifteen under the strict tutelage of Nyoman Regig. The discipline and precision instilled during those years shaped his mastery of the craft. By his twenties, Sarjana had established his own workshop, where he continues to design and handcraft silver jewelry inspired by Bali’s lush natural world and daily life. Flowers, animals, and abstract geometric motifs appear throughout his work, each piece reflecting both ancestral heritage and personal artistry. Over time, his workshop has grown into a collaborative space, employing local artisans and sustaining livelihoods within his community. Sarjana’s creations embody Bali’s spirit, offering wearers jewelry that bridges tradition, innovation, and cultural pride.
