This Pottery Traditions necklace and earring set by Peruvian artisan Ubaldina Paucar Achancaray celebrates her country's centuries-old ceramics traditions. The set features ceramic beads in cacao and beige with Inca-inspired geometric patterns. The necklace and earrings are finished with sterling silver hooks and a clasp, blending ancestral artistry with contemporary design.
Ubaldina Paucar Achancaray, known as Dina, was born in Cusco in 1953, in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Inca. Surrounded by the cultural richness of her homeland, she discovered her love of craft in school, later studying fine arts and ceramics in Pisac. What began as a personal passion became a family legacy when she and her husband, once an automotive mechanic, turned to ceramics and jewelry-making together. With patience and dedication, they built a workshop where their children also learned the art, blending Inca-inspired heritage with contemporary design. Though Dina faced the loss of her husband, the family continues to honor his memory and their shared craft. Today, their jewelry and decorative ceramics reflect resilience, unity, and a commitment to carrying forward Peru’s ancestral artistry with love.
Handcrafted from ceramic and 925 sterling silver, the necklace measures 19.8 inches L, and the earrings measure 1.5 inches L. The necklace features a fold-over clasp, and the earrings feature hook earrings.
