This Guatemalan collective traces its origins to 1995, when a family experiment with painted dolls quickly grew into a thriving craft tradition. Inspired by Maya culture and guided by the creativity of siblings, children, and a devoted mother, the family workshop began by handcrafting dolls dressed in traditional clothing. Over time, their work expanded to jewelry inspired by Maya cosmology, particularly the calendar and nahuales, the spiritual animals believed to guide each person through life. Today, the group coordinates with women artisans who work from home, ensuring income and flexibility for their families. Each piece — whether a doll or a piece of jewelry — reflects the colors, beliefs, and heritage of the Maya, carrying forward a legacy of art made with dedication, collaboration, and joy.

Handcrafted from pinewood and polyester cord, this necklace measures 13.5 inches min L x 27.5 inches max L and features an adjustable sliding knot. The pendant measures 0.2 inches H x 1.2 inches in diameter. The color, size, and motif may vary slightly.
