Romantic Rose Quartz Pendant Necklace from Guatemala 'Loved'

The Casa Hogar project began in 2007 when Clare Johnston Kunkel traveled from the United States to Guatemala to volunteer at a Catholic home for girls and young women. Moved by their circumstances, she began teaching sewing, which soon grew into a broader entrepreneurship and jewelry-making initiative. Today, around 20 girls between the ages of two and 21 live and train at Casa Hogar, where they learn to create bags, accessories, and jewelry in silver, gemstones, and leather. Each design is handcrafted without molds or stamps and marked with the artisan’s fingerprint, symbolizing personal authorship and dignity. The project’s mission is to give young Guatemalan women economic autonomy, job skills, and confidence for the future. Through jewelry, they gain a livelihood, education, and the ability to dream of a better life.

This handcrafted necklace is made with a rose quartz stone and a 999 fine silver pendant on a leather cord with a lobster claw clasp. It measures 27 inches in length and has a combination finish.
