The Artisans of Panabaj is a community collective rooted in Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, where tradition and resilience shape each creation. Emerging in the aftermath of Storm Stan in 2005, which devastated homes and lives across the region, the organization set out to restore stability and opportunity for families in Panabaj, Tzanchaj, Santiago Atitlán, and Chuk Muk. Building on a history marked by both cultural richness and profound hardship, the collective empowers indigenous women through education and economic development. Their craft centers on intricately beaded jewelry, made with skill on special looms, providing a dignified income and a path to self-sufficiency. Beyond artistry, the initiative fosters leadership, encouraging women to strengthen their roles within family, community, and cultural life. Each piece embodies not only the beauty of Guatemala’s heritage but also the enduring strength of women who transform adversity into opportunity.

This handcrafted bracelet is made with glass beads and a crystal on nylon thread. It measures 7 to 8 inches in length and 1.2 inches in width, and has an adjustable button clasp.
