This Quetzalcoatl Inspired Sterling Silver Cocktail Ring by Rosa Padillas Solís is a powerful and mythical accessory. The cocktail ring depicts a double-headed feathered snake crafted from sterling silver with a combination of finishes. This highly stylized design alludes to the ancient deity Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent deity, and is a tribute to Mexico's ancient past.
Rosa Padillas Solís, founder of the jewelry brand Rosa Rojo, is a Guadalajara-born artisan whose work draws deeply from Mexico’s pre-Hispanic heritage. Inspired by sacred symbols such as the jaguar, feathered serpent, and spiral snail, her designs reinterpret ancient archetypes with contemporary artistry. She first discovered her passion while reselling jewelry and gemstones, eventually deciding to create her own pieces in silver accented with pearls, agates, and hematite. Alongside her husband, she develops sketches that evolve into meticulously handcrafted jewels using the lost-wax technique, a method once employed by Mesoamerican cultures. Since launching her brand, Rosa has received recognition at the prestigious ENART competition, where her work has earned top prizes. For her, jewelry is both a tribute to her cultural roots and a way to imbue wearers with beauty, meaning, and heritage.
Handcrafted from 925 sterling silver, this ring has a front that measures 1.1 inches L x 0.5 inches W with a band width of 2 mm W. It has a combination finish.
