Rosa Hernández is part of a group of women artisans from Santa Cruz La Laguna in Sololá, Guatemala, where weaving has been a lifelong tradition. Trained from childhood to create textiles for clothing and the home, the women sought new opportunities through collaboration with a volunteer, Lily Jacobs. To make their work easier to transport abroad, they adapted their skills to crafting intricate beaded jewelry. This new art form allows them to work from home, care for children, and earn a sustainable income. Inspired by Lake Atitlán and the beauty of their homeland, they translate woven patterns into delicate jewelry pieces, preserving cultural heritage in a new medium. Their collective dream is to bring these creations to the world, so each design becomes both adornment and a story of community resilience.

Handcrafted from glass beads, nylon cord, and a pewter button, this bracelet measures 7.5 inches L and 0.9 inches W. It has a button clasp and a high polish finish. Variations in color, size, and motif are to be expected.
