Though she trained as a teacher, her journey into creativity began alongside her sister, crafting necklaces in their father’s workshop. Inspired by their success, they expanded into painted mirrors, where Meliza uncovered her passion for painting, channeling her emotions into vibrant works on wood. Soon, she began creating painted jewelry — earrings and necklaces that celebrate Guatemala’s textile heritage and honor the strength of indigenous women. Each piece is a tribute to her mother, sister, and the many women in her community who balance tradition, work, and education. Hand-painted and deeply personal, her creations embody both beauty and cultural pride.
