These Artisan Crafted Cultured Pearl Earrings 'Fair Flower' by Matta Nandrakwang are a pretty pair of dangle earrings. Radiant cultured keshi pearls distinguish these earrings. The artisan sets the flower-shaped earrings on sterling silver hooks and the piece is a beautiful blend of artistry and tradition.
Matta Nandrakwang, born in Chiang Rai near the Myanmar border, grew up amidst the vibrant cultures of Thailand’s northern tribes. From childhood, she was enchanted by the adornments of hill tribe women, their silver coins, beads, and ornaments sparking a lifelong fascination with jewelry. Her first blue star sapphire ring ignited a passion that only grew stronger. After training as a nurse and traveling abroad, Matta realized her true calling was in gemstones. She pursued formal studies in gemology and jewelry design, supplementing her education with self-taught bead-making. Today, she runs her own studio, where she shares her love of gems and the art of jewelry with visitors. Inspired by both heritage and personal style, her creations celebrate the natural beauty of gemstones and the cultural richness of her homeland. For Matta, jewelry is both adornment and storytelling, carrying history, elegance, and joy.
Handcrafted from 925 sterling silver, cultured pearl, and steel wire with a high polish finish, these earrings measure 1.7 inches L x 1.1 inches W and feature hook closures.
