Designed by Rosario Leiva (Rous), an Argentinian-born artisan now in Guatemala, these dangle earrings are made with sterling silver hooks and vibrant colors. The artisan melts recycled CD scrap in a mold and applies droplets of acrylic to achieve her desired colors, resulting in magnificent translucent colors punctuated with air bubbles that create unique patterns.
Known to friends as Rous, this Argentinian-born artisan moved to Guatemala as a child and discovered her passion for transforming discarded materials into vibrant jewelry. She works primarily with recycled CDs, melting and molding them into unique forms, often enriched with droplets of stained-glass acrylic. What began as experimentation has evolved into a distinctive eco-art practice, where no two pieces are ever the same.
