These Wing-Shaped Cultured Pearl Dangle Earrings from Bali 'Heavenly Plumes' by Independent Artisans are a beautiful bridge between past and present. Designed by I Gede Putra Adi, a Celuk silversmith who is determined to preserve his village's legacy, these sterling silver earrings feature heavenly, plumed feathers that descend from the ears. They feature glowing white cultured pearls that dangle below, honoring Bali’s culture while meeting global tastes and sustaining the community's craft in an era of change.
Born in 1992 in Celuk, Bali’s renowned silversmithing village, I Gede Putra Adi grew up surrounded by the rhythms of silverwork. The son of a silversmith, he initially pursued business administration before returning to his heritage, determined to preserve Celuk’s legacy. Today, he manages his family’s art shop while designing contemporary jewelry that blends traditional motifs such as jawan with modern styles. Assisted by a small team of artisans, he transforms ideas into handcrafted pieces that honor Bali’s culture while meeting global tastes. Silver remains his primary medium, complemented by gemstones and pearls sourced locally. For Adi, each design is a bridge between past and present, sustaining his community’s craft in an era of change. Through his work, he hopes to ensure Celuk silver remains a celebrated art form for generations to come.
Handcrafted from 925 sterling silver and cultured freshwater pearls with a combination finish, these earrings measure 1.3 inches L x 0.3 inches W x 0.3 inches D and feature post closures.
