These 'Jagaraga Sun' earrings by Ari Gunawan are a beautiful and elaborate accessory. Crafted from sterling silver, the dangle earrings feature two elaborate sun shapes, framed by wire work with dot patterns that are named after Jagaraga, a province in Bali. The combination finish lends a unique depth to the design, making these earrings a beautiful reflection of traditional Balinese artistry and modern vision.
Raised in a Balinese village famed for its silverwork, this artisan is the first of two children and was introduced to the craft by his grandfather, one of the village’s most respected silversmiths. Though initially reluctant, he grew passionate about the artistry and discipline of silver jewelry, later refining his skills through both family guidance and vocational studies in modern design. Now married with two sons, he works alongside his wife to create pieces inspired by the beauty of everyday life in Bali. With access to local materials and traditional tools, he combines heritage techniques with personal creativity, supported by a small team of artisans. For him, jewelry-making is more than a livelihood—it is a legacy to sustain his family and ensure his children’s future. Each design reflects both tradition and modern vision, rooted in Bali’s cultural heritage and his own dedication to craft.
Handcrafted in Indonesia from 925 sterling silver, these dangle earrings measure 1.8 inches in length and 0.9 inches in width. They have a combination finish and secure with hooks.
