These Sterling Silver Speckled Dangle Earrings by Ketut Udiana are a unique and stylish accessory. The discs are adorned with a "speckled" pattern and a central spiral motif, all handcrafted from sterling silver. The combination finish gives them a refined, textured appearance. These "Speckled Shield" earrings are a beautiful example of the artisan's ability to blend a hammered finish with traditional motifs, creating a piece that is both culturally rich and contemporary.
Born in 1970 in Celuk, Bali’s renowned silversmithing village, Ketut Udiana carries forward the traditions of his parents, who worked as both teachers and metal artisans. Immersed in jewelry-making from the age of 15, he grew to master the intricate techniques that define Balinese silverwork. Today, Ketut works alongside his wife, who also designs jewelry, as well as their children and a team of five skilled artisans. His designs are distinguished by a hammered finish combined with traditional motifs, reflecting both cultural heritage and contemporary refinement. Though his journey has faced financial challenges, Ketut’s resilience and faith have sustained his workshop. Every piece he creates embodies patience, precision, and pride in Bali’s artisanal legacy. Through his jewelry, he hopes to connect with a wider audience, ensuring that Balinese silver continues to inspire and endure in the global marketplace.
Handcrafted in Indonesia from 925 sterling silver with a combination finish, these post earrings measure 1.7 inches long by 0.8 inches wide by 0.1 inches deep.
