Sterling Silver Om-Motif Cocktail Ring 'Balinese Ongkara' This 'Balinese Ongkara' cocktail ring by Independent Artisans is a spiritual and beautiful piece from designer Ni Wayan Lasti. The ring is centered with a large, openwork Balinese Om symbol, representing the power that creates, preserves, and destroys the universe. Oxidized floral designs circle the symbol, adding a touch of natural beauty. This piece honors Bali's traditions and rituals, carrying both beauty and deep meaning from an artisan who has built her craft on resilience and generosity.
Born in Bali in 1987, Ni Wayan Lasti grew up in an underprivileged family but was raised with values of patience, resilience, and generosity. Surrounded by silversmiths in her community, she learned the craft from her parents and neighbors, eventually developing her own jewelry line. Inspired by Bali’s flora, traditions, and rituals, her designs often feature floral motifs that echo the offerings used in daily prayers. Despite personal hardships, including the loss of her father, Lasti built a workshop where she now works alongside her husband and three silversmiths. Together they craft silver and gemstone jewelry that honors Balinese artistry. A mother of two daughters, she hopes to provide them with a brighter future while continuing her cultural legacy through jewelry that carries both beauty and meaning.
Handcrafted in 925 sterling silver, this ring weighs 0.14 oz. The ring front measures 0.7 inches L x 0.7 inches W x 0.1 inch H, and the band is 3 mm W. It features an oxidized finish.
