This 'Beneficent Ganesha' pendant necklace by Independent Artisans is an elegant and spiritual accessory. Designed by Pichaya, this sterling silver necklace features a pendant of Ganesha, the Hindu god known as the "Remover of Obstacles." This piece is a way to blend contemporary simplicity with echoes of the past.
Raised in a farming family in Thailand, this designer grew up surrounded by rice paddies and a strong work ethic that shaped her approach to life and art. From an early age, she helped support her parents by selling fruits and vegetables, developing resilience and a desire to create a better future. Her love of jewelry eventually led her to pursue formal experience with a jewelry exporter, where she gained hands-on knowledge of silver, gemstone, pearl, bead, and leather techniques. Travels with her partner, a collector of antique jewelry, broadened her exposure to styles and traditions across regions, inspiring her to blend contemporary simplicity with echoes of the past. Today, she designs lightweight, versatile pieces intended for daily wear, crafted in close collaboration with skilled silversmiths and suppliers. Her creations reflect both her heritage and her vision, offering jewelry that is accessible, comfortable, and designed to bring joy to everyday life.
Handcrafted in 925 sterling silver, this necklace has a combination finish and spring ring clasp, and measures 18 inches in length.
