Born in Bali, Made Sudiari grew up in a community where jewelry-making was part of daily life. Though her parents were farmers, she and her siblings helped neighbors craft silver jewelry to pay for school. By sixth grade, she was already creating her own designs. Known for her quiet determination, she built her career while raising two children, often working late at night after caring for her family. Together with her husband, children, and a small team of artisans, she now creates jewelry using traditional tools and techniques. Sterling silver, gold, and gemstones form the foundation of her work, which reflects Bali’s deep artisanal heritage. For Made, jewelry-making is both livelihood and legacy, a way to ensure her children’s future while honoring the traditions of her homeland.
