These 'Atlantis Leaves' earrings by Independent Artisans are a unique and beautiful creation that celebrates nature in a lasting work of art. Peruvian silversmith Jose Luis Pariona immortalizes two hydrangea leaves by dyeing them with rich, oceanic blue hues. The preserved leaves are then framed with circles of high-polish sterling silver, creating a delightful pair of dangle earrings that are both ethereal and elegant. This piece is a tribute to Peru's rich history and the beauty of its natural world.
Born in 1981 in Junín, Peru, José grew up in a village known for agriculture and handicrafts. Raised by his mother, he learned the value of perseverance early on, supporting her by working in his uncle’s jewelry workshop. Though he later trained in mechanics, the call of jewelry never left him. A self-taught artisan since his teenage years, he refined his skills through practice and specialized courses, mastering traditional tools and techniques. Inspired by Peru’s rich history and culture, his designs capture both heritage and personal expression. For José, the joy of jewelry lies in shaping raw materials into creations that connect emotion, artistry, and identity. His dream is to be recognized for his creativity and quality, sharing his art with the world while honoring the dedication that has defined his journey.
Handcrafted in 925 sterling silver with natural leaf preserved in acrylic, these hook earrings have a high-polish finish and measure 1.5 inches in length by 0.7 inches in width.
