This 'Celuk Celebration' Sterling Silver and 18k Gold Accent Naga Necklace by Independent Artisans displays classic Balinese jewelry techniques. The elegant two-tone necklace is handcrafted with curling wirework and small silver droplets called jawan. 18-karat-gold plated bands complement the selectively oxidized sterling silver.
Born in Celuk, Bali’s renowned silver-crafting village, Ni Made Sriasih grew up immersed in a culture where artistry and community intertwined. She learned silverwork at the age of 12 from her father, a master silversmith, and later studied anthropology before opening her own workshop with the support of her husband. Sriasih’s jewelry honors Bali’s ancient kingdoms, yet she adapts traditional motifs with modern elegance to appeal to contemporary wearers. In her workshop, a team of artisans helps bring her designs to life using simple, time-honored tools. In 2011, she received the Indonesian Woman Entrepreneur Award on Kartini Day, recognizing her achievements in preserving heritage through innovation. For Sriasih, silver jewelry is not only a livelihood but a cultural treasure—each design a bridge between the island’s storied past and its evolving present.
Handcrafted in Indonesia, this necklace is made from .925 sterling silver and 18k gold accents with a combination finish. It features a naga chain with a lobster claw clasp. The total weight is 0.60 oz. The necklace length is 18.5 inches L x 0.1 inches W, and the pendant measures 1.6 inches L x 0.3 inches W x 0.2 inches D.
