Ruben and Gilda, a husband-and-wife team from a town near Antigua, Guatemala, carry forward two artistic legacies: silversmithing and woodcarving. Ruben learned jewelry-making from his father, while Gilda grew up surrounded by her family’s woodcraft and traditional foods. They first met as teenagers, and after uniting their lives, they decided to combine their talents into a shared workshop. Ruben has been crafting jewelry since 1996, and Gilda began woodcarving in 2002, each piece reflecting the cultural heritage instilled by their parents. Today, their greatest inspiration comes from their children, whose future they hope to secure through their artistry, as well as from the traditions of their homeland. Beyond their workshop, they remain active in community life, with Ruben running a soccer school for local children and Gilda volunteering at church. Their creations embody dedication, culture, and love, offering jewelry deeply connected to Guatemala’s spirit.
Handcrafted in Guatemala, these hook earrings are made from jade and .925 sterling silver hooks with a high polish finish. The total weight is 0.35 oz. Each earring measures 1.4 inches L x 0.7 inches W x 0.3 inches D.
