This Set of 2 Avocado Green Glass Beaded Friendship Bracelets 'Avocado Bond' by Independent Artisans is a set of two friendship bracelets with a unique design. Crafted by artisans from the Hands of Atitlan Association, they work with glass beads to create this set. One is in a bold palette of black and green hues, and the other is embellished with a charming avocado pendant.
Hands of Atitlán, founded in 2014 by Dolores Quievac and Diego Petzey, is a social enterprise rooted in the Tz'utujil village of Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala. Both founders grew up in families of textile artisans, inheriting generations of knowledge and beginning their own creative journeys as children. Today, the collective trains and supports more than thirty artisans, primarily women, in producing handmade jewelry that reflects the natural beauty and cultural richness of Lake Atitlán. Their mission extends beyond craft, offering education, empowerment, and fair employment to break cycles of poverty. The organization also runs community programs for youth and leads reforestation campaigns to sustain the local environment. Inspired by love, life, and nature, Dolores and Diego envision Hands of Atitlán as a future technological learning center that uplifts women and strengthens communities. Each piece embodies artistry, resilience, and social transformation.
Handcrafted from glass beads and nylon, these adjustable bracelets measure 6 to 11 inches L. The largest piece is 0.2 inches W, and the smallest is 0.7 inches L x 0.6 inches W x 0.1 inches D. They have a sliding knot closure.
