Born in West Bengal in the late 1970s, this artisan found her path to jewelry through resilience and creativity. Though her father urged her toward science, leading to a degree in bioscience, her love of art endured. After her son was born with cerebral palsy, she turned to crafts as a way to cope with life’s challenges, first exploring clay before discovering her talent for ceramic jewelry in 2011. Inspired by folk art and traditional Indian motifs, she crafts modern designs that balance innovation with cultural roots. With support from her mother, she conducts workshops, sharing skills and creating opportunities in her community. Each piece reflects her dedication, imagination, and attention to detail. Her dream is to see her creations admired globally, not only as adornment but as expressions of resilience and Indian artistry.
Handcrafted in India with ceramic, cotton cord and tassel, and .925 sterling silver. The necklace is adjustable from 15.3 to 21.3 inches long. The pendant measures 3.5 inches in length and 3 inches in width. As a handcrafted item, color and size may vary slightly.
