Born into a family of award-winning artisans, this Indian designer grew up surrounded by carving traditions passed down for generations. His grandfather trained young artisans in government programs, while his father and uncle earned National Awards for Excellence. Originally ivory carvers, the family transitioned to wood after the trade was banned in 1991, continuing their legacy of intricate craftsmanship. After completing his schooling, he joined the family workshop, specializing in both sculptures and wood jewelry. His skills later took him abroad as a trainer in Oman, and he has exhibited in Austria, Iran, and across India. Supported by his four brothers, he continues to honor his family’s heritage while embracing contemporary demand for jewelry. His designs balance tradition and innovation, offering sculptural detail in wearable forms that reflect India’s rich artistic legacy.
