A third-generation silversmith from Taxco, Mikelo carries forward the legacy of a town that has been synonymous with fine sterling since the 16th century. Introduced to the craft as a child in his father’s workshop, he grew to see silver as part of his identity, just as it had been for his father and grandfather. Around 2010, after a difficult economic period, Mikelo began designing his own jewelry, launching a zodiac-inspired collection that revealed his natural talent for translating imagination into silver. Today, he creates original pieces in 950 silver, each one hand-forged with traditional techniques and inspired by nature, faith, and the mysteries of the universe. The moon, his recurring muse, informs a collection that seeks to bring peace, harmony, and balance to the wearer.
