Handmade Garnet and Sterling Silver Drop Earrings 'Odyssey's Edge in Red'

Born in Bali in 1975, Made Sugi was raised in a community where silversmithing thrives. Inspired by her surroundings, she learned the craft after helping in her husband’s workshop, gradually moving from cleaning and shaping silver to designing her own pieces. Together, they now lead a workshop of 15 artisans who use traditional tools to create intricate designs in silver, gemstones, and pearls. Her jewelry often features classic Balinese motifs such as jawan (silver bubbles) and bun (swirls), patterns that require great precision and skill. Despite personal challenges, including an injury to her hand, Made lives by the motto “never give up.” Her creations embody Balinese culture and artistry, offering jewelry that is both meaningful and distinctive. Through her work, she hopes to keep the silversmithing tradition alive for future generations.

Handcrafted in Indonesia with .925 sterling silver and garnet, these hook earrings have a combination finish. Each earring measures 1 inch in length and 0.5 inches in width. Colors and variegation of the natural stones will vary.
