Crafting these pieces is a community-wide effort: the cane is dried, split into uniform strands, dyed with natural pigments, and woven into intricate braids, sometimes containing up to twenty-eight fibers. The geometric pintas that adorn each piece carry symbolic meaning, representing clans, plants, animals, and ancestral narratives. Today, the Zenú artisans pass down their knowledge through local schools, blending oral history with traditional techniques to preserve their cultural heritage.
