Born in 1994 near Antigua, Guatemala, Manuel Obin is a ceramic artist whose passion for craft began in 2011 when he first encountered clay. Fascinated, he taught himself to shape and fire pieces, eventually building his own kiln and founding a home workshop. Determined to create a better future, he shared his skills with his friend Jorge, driven by the belief that hard work and shared dreams inspire progress. Supported by his family and guided by his mother’s example of humility and perseverance, Manuel developed a style defined by vibrant, hand-sculpted figurines that bring color and joy into living spaces. Today, his ceramics represent both personal expression and a vision of community empowerment, as he strives to teach others and create sustainable livelihoods through craft.
