Born in 1961 into a pioneering silver family in Central Java, Priyo Salim inherited both skill and responsibility from his father, who introduced sculptural silver designs such as miniature becak tricycles. Though initially studying cartography with plans for civil service, Priyo returned to jewelry when his father grew ill, determined to carry forward the family legacy. His decision led him to innovate, moving from silver sculptures into jewelry that could evolve with each design. Priyo’s creations are celebrated for reviving the nearly forgotten Javanese repoussé technique, blending cultural heritage with contemporary forms. His work has earned recognition in national competitions and commissions from the Indonesian presidential office for major international summits. Supported by his wife and team, Priyo is both an innovator and a custodian of tradition. He views his art as a way to share beauty, happiness, and cultural continuity — a small but meaningful contribution to a better world.

Handcrafted in sterling silver, carnelian, and pyrite with a high-polish finish, this necklace weighs 1.20 oz. The choker is 13.5 inches L (end to end) and 0.1 inches W.
