These Flower-Themed Silver Chandelier Earrings 'Floral Adoration' by Juan Carlos Flores are a stunning reflection of Mazahua heritage. Two sterling silver crescents, inspired by the traditional dress of Mazahua women, are meticulously detailed with floral patterns. Petite, dangling baubles hang from the bottom, creating a sense of graceful movement. The combination finish highlights the intricate granulated silverwork, preserving a craft passed down through generations while offering a unique and timeless accessory.
Mexican artisan Juan Carlos Flores represents the third generation of a family dedicated to silver jewelry. Alongside relatives Dora Magdalena Rodríguez, Osvaldo Rodríguez, and Rosario Rodríguez, he preserves Mazahua traditions through handcrafted pieces inspired by nature and culture. Using granulated silver melted into sheets and wires, the family creates designs adorned with birds, flowers, and leaves, motifs also present in the traditional dress of Mazahua women. Some pieces are further enriched with semi-precious or precious stones. Though balancing creativity with market demands is challenging, the family takes pride in sharing their culture through their art. For them, each piece is more than jewelry—it is a reflection of heritage and identity. By innovating without abandoning tradition, they continue to keep Mazahua artistry alive for future generations.
Handcrafted from 925 sterling silver with a combination finish. The earrings measure 2.4 inches L x 1 inch W x 0.1 inch D with kidney earwires.
