The Jepun Queen link bracelet by Made Sugi is a regal accessory featuring beads of fiery carnelian. The bracelet is crafted with sterling silver links and a pendant in the form of two frangipani flowers. This piece embodies Balinese culture and artistry, and is a testament to the artisan's motto of "never giving up."
Born in Bali in 1975, Made Sugi was raised in a community where silversmithing thrives. Inspired by her surroundings, she learned the craft after helping in her husband’s workshop, gradually moving from cleaning and shaping silver to designing her own pieces. Together, they now lead a workshop of 15 artisans who use traditional tools to create intricate designs in silver, gemstones, and pearls. Her jewelry often features classic Balinese motifs such as jawan (silver bubbles) and bun (swirls), patterns that require great precision and skill. Despite personal challenges, including an injury to her hand, Made lives by the motto “never give up.” Her creations embody Balinese culture and artistry, offering jewelry that is both meaningful and distinctive. Through her work, she hopes to keep the silversmithing tradition alive for future generations.
Made in Indonesia from 925 sterling silver and carnelian with a combination finish. The cable chain bracelet is 17.8 inches L and 2 mm W, with a lobster claw clasp. The pendant is 0.4 inches H x 0.4 inches W x 0.1 inches D. It weighs 1.41 oz.
